Joomla Development & Migration in Jordan & the Gulf
Short answer: Joomla development still makes sense for organisations with an established Joomla site, a team that knows it, and a need for its built-in access control and multilingual features. Our Joomla development covers Joomla 4 and 5 builds and upgrades, custom templates and extensions, security hardening and — when it is the better path — a clean migration to WordPress. Based in Amman, serving Jordan, the Gulf and the US since 2004.
Joomla was the first CMS many businesses in Jordan and the Gulf ever used, and a large number of those sites are still running — often on Joomla 3, which is no longer supported. That is where most of our Joomla work begins: an existing site that needs to be brought forward safely.
We provide honest Joomla development: if upgrading to Joomla 5 is the right move, we do it properly, with a modern template, updated extensions and security hardening. If the site would be better served by WordPress, we say so and migrate it with content and SEO intact.
Either way, you end up with a fast, secure, editable site rather than one that is quietly falling behind.
Our Joomla development services#
Joomla development at Consult One covers both keeping Joomla and leaving it well.
- Joomla 3 to Joomla 4/5 upgrades — template rebuild, extension replacement and data migration.
- Custom Joomla templates — responsive, fast and designed for your brand rather than a purchased theme.
- Custom components and modules — when the extension you need does not exist or is unmaintained.
- Arabic & English multilingual sites — Joomla’s native multilingual system with RTL templates.
- Security hardening and recovery — cleaning hacked sites, patching, WAF and monitoring.
- Joomla to WordPress migration — content, users, media and URL redirects preserved.
Every engagement starts with an audit of the current site and a written recommendation. The Joomla project maintains the platform; our Joomla development keeps your site on a supported version and performing.
What separates good Joomla development from bad#
An honest recommendation#
We are not paid by Joomla or WordPress. If upgrading is the right move we upgrade; if migrating is better for your team and budget, we migrate.
Supported versions only#
Joomla 3 and older receive no security fixes. Anything we deliver runs on a supported release with an update plan.
Templates built, not bought#
Purchased templates bring bloat and lock-in. We build lean templates that load fast and pass Core Web Vitals.
SEO continuity#
Upgrades and migrations preserve URLs, metadata and internal links, so rankings survive the move.
When Joomla is the right choice#
Stay on Joomla when your team is productive in it, your extensions are maintained, and the site relies on Joomla’s access control levels or multilingual system in ways that would be costly to rebuild. A well-maintained Joomla 5 site is a perfectly good site.
Move to WordPress when key extensions are abandoned, the site is stuck on Joomla 3, or your team struggles to edit it. For large structured portals, Drupal may fit better. We will assess and tell you.
Joomla development questions#
Is Joomla still worth using?
Yes, for existing sites and teams that know it. For a brand-new site we usually recommend WordPress, but Joomla 5 is secure, modern and fully supported.
Our site is on Joomla 3. Is it at risk?
Yes. Joomla 3 no longer receives security updates. Upgrade to Joomla 5 or migrate to WordPress — we can do either.
Can you migrate Joomla to WordPress without losing SEO?
Yes. We map every URL, migrate content and media, rebuild metadata and set 301 redirects so search rankings carry over.
Our Joomla site was hacked. Can you fix it?
Yes. We clean the infection, close the entry point, update core and extensions and add monitoring so it does not happen again.
Do you support Arabic Joomla sites?
Yes. Joomla’s multilingual system is strong, and we build RTL templates with proper Arabic typography.
